FIFTEEN BEEHIVE STUDENTS WIN AWARDS AT THE UNIVERSITY OF UTAH SCIENCE AND ENGINEERING FAIR

Salt Lake City–Beehive Science & Technology Academy students captured 15 awards at the University of Utah Science and Engineering Fair March 20 through 22. According to the University of Utah’s website, “The University of Utah Science & Engineering Fair (formerly named SLVSEF) is an annual science and engineering competition for students in grades 5-12. Participation in science fair stimulates students’ interest in science and technology while simultaneously promoting the development of communication, decision making, evaluation of alternative solutions and critical thinking.”

 

     In addition to Beehive, students from the Canyons, Granite, Murray, North Sanpete, Park City, Salt Lake and Tooele School Districts as well as the Salt Lake Catholic Diocese participated in the event.

     Here’s the list of Beehive students who won awards at the fair:

Aiden Pasinsky (8th grade):  4th place in Medicine and Health Sciences 

Austin Grant, Sarenidee Hin, Neelima Haynes (9th grade): Special Award (Fatpipe Engineering Award)

Benjamin Pearson (6th grade): Special Award (American Society of Civil Engineers)

Dua Azhar – Sanjana Kargi (10th grade): 3rd place in Behavioral and Social Sciences 

Isabella Todd (10th grade):  4th place in Plant Sciences 

Kassandra Holt (6th grade): HonorableMention: Engineering (Electrical and Computer Science)

Nicholas Jacob (7th grade):  4th place in Engineering and Mechanical 

Nihal Kariparduc and Zachary Maynard (10th grade): Special Award (American Meteorological Society) and 1st place in Chemistry 

Pheonix Jones (12th Grade):  XMission Special Award,  SAB Special Award, and 3rd place in Engineering (Electrical and Computer Sciences)

Sasha Singh and Sahana Kargi (11th grade): Special Award – Leonardo Museum and 4th place in Behavioral and Social Sciences

Srinithya Lakireddy (9th grade):  3rd place in Plant Sciences
